Over the past ten years Two Trees Management created 400 affordable housing units in New York City, with another 750 on the way.
The River Ring site, next to Domino Park in Williamsburg, will pursue, mandatory inclusionary housing and include 263 permanent affordable housing units. There will be 236 units for low-income New Yorkers making 60% area median income and 27 units for very low-income New Yorkers making 40% area median income. Rents for 1-bedrooms will range from $717/month to $1,143/month and 2-bedrooms range from $854/month to $1,366/month. All of the low-income units are identical to the market-rate apartments and are permanent.
The 263 proposed units represent a 19% increase within one mile of the River Ring site and offer a great opportunity for those in the neighborhood seeking affordable housing. Half of the affordable units will be offered first to Brooklyn CB1 residents, the maximum allowed by City policy.
